While you take Albuterol, use Sympathomimetic drugs with caution because additive side effects may occur. Examples of Sympathomimetics include stimulants like Amphetamine, Adderall, Dexedrine, Ephedrine, Fastin, and Tenuate; some cough and cold products containing Pseudoephedrine (example Sudafed), Phenylephrine, or Phenylpropanolamine (PPA); and also herbal weight loss products containing ephedra or Ma huang. Taking the listed drugs with Albuterol can increase the risk of a fast heart rate, nervousness, palpitations, problems with sleep, or other side effects.

The interaction between Delavirdine and Imatinib, STI-571 is complex. Side effects or decreased effectiveness of Delavirdine, Imatinib, STI-571, or both may be observed. Notify your health care provider if you notice changes in your infection status, increased fatigue, bleeding, swelling of feet, ankles or swelling aroung the eyes, muscle cramps, or other unusual effects.

Do not take Procarbazine and Sympathomimetics together. Examples of Sympathomimetics include stimulants or weight loss drugs like Amphetamine, Adderall, Dexedrine, Fastin, and Tenuate. Sympathomimetics also include cough and cold products containing Pseudoephedrine (example Sudafed), Phenylephrine, or Phenylpropanolamine (PPA) and also herbal weight loss products containing ephedra or Ma huang. Using Procarbazine with any of the listed drugs might lead to serious increased blood pressure, known as "hypertensive crisis", nervousness, palpitations or other serious side effects.

Sargramostim, GM-CSF, is often used following Antineoplastic Agents (Chemotherapy, drugs used to treat cancer and other conditions); however, Sargramostim, GM-CSF, should not be used within 24 hours of receiving chemotherapy. If given during chemotherapy, Sargramostim may increase the duration and severity the effects of Chemotherapy on the bone marrow. Usually, Sargramostim is stopped at least 2 days before starting your next cycle of Chemotherapy.

Certain foods might increase the risk of side effects with Procarbazine. In addition, you should probably limit your intake of aged or smoked meats (like sausages or smoked or pickled fish), aged cheeses, and caffeine containing foods like coffee, colas, teas, and chocolate while on Procarbazine. Taking these foods along with Procarbazine might increase the risk of high blood pressure, confusion, restlessness, or other side effects. Ask your dietician or health care professional for a complete listing of foods best avoided while on Procarbazine.

You must avoid alcoholic beverages while taking Procarbazine. Side effects from Procarbazine may get worse if you have Alcoholic beverages or take medicines containing a significant amount of alcohol. Beverages to avoid include some beers (including alcohol-free beer); wines; sherry; hard liquor; or liqueurs. Taking these beverages along with Procarbazine might increase the risk of serious high blood pressure, confusion, restlessness, or other side effects.

Do not take acetaminophen routinely while you are receiving Imatinib, STI-517 treatment. Taking Acetaminophen with Imatinib, STI-517 may increase the risk of serious liver-related side effects. Occasional use of Acetaminophen with Imatinib should only be done under the advice of your health care provider. Many products contain Acetaminophen; read labels closely before taking any medicine with Imatinib. If the use of these drugs together is approved by your health care professional, do not exceed 4 g acetaminophen/day in adults or 75 mg/kg/day of acetaminophen in children.

Patients who drink more than 3 alcoholic drinks a day and take acetaminophen are at increased risk of developing liver side effects. Avoid alcoholic drinks if you are taking acetaminophen on a regular basis.

However, Sargramostim, GM-CSF, should not be used within 24 hours of receiving chemotherapy. Usually, Sargramostim is stopped at least 2 days before starting your next cycle of Chemotherapy.

Do not take Imatinib, STI-571 with grapefruit or grapefruit juice. Taking Imatinib with grapefruit or grapefruit juice may increase side effects of Imatinib. If you accidentally take Imatinib with grapefruit or grapefruit juice, immediately tell your doctor about any unusual effects.

Although an interaction is possible, these drugs may be used together. Discuss any new or worsening side effects (like confusion, constipation, dizziness, difficulty with urination, dry mouth and eyes, changes in vision, palpitations, or fast heartbeat) with your health care provider. In some individuals, lower doses of Tolterodine may need to be prescribed, check with your health care professional.

Although an interaction is possible, these drugs may be used together. Side effects from Tolterodine may get worse if you take Imatinib, STI-571. You should be prescribed a lower dosage of Tolterodine because Imatinib can slow Tolterodine's removal from the body. Discuss any new or worsening side effects, such as confusion, constipation, dizziness, difficulty with urination, dry mouth and eyes, changes in vision, palpitations, or fast or irregular heartbeat with your health care provider. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how these drugs affect you.

Granisetron and Beta-agonists may be prescribed together under the supervision of your health care provider. Examples of Beta-agonists include: Advair, Combivent, Foradil, Proventil, Serevent, and Ventolin. Although rare, Granisetron can increase the risk of a dangerous change in heartbeat or heart rhythm. Very rarely, Beta-agonists have also caused changes in heart rate or rhythm. Additional risk factors for this rare interaction include females, patients with certain pre-existing heart conditions (such as prior heart attack, angina, heart failure, heart rhythm disturbances), patients receiving certain Diuretics (water pills such as Hydrochlorothiazide) which can decrease the level of potassium in the blood, patients with a low potassium level in the blood due to excessive vomiting or diarrhea, or patients with congenital Long QT syndrome (a rare genetic syndrome). Seek medical attention immediately if you notice side effects like chest pain, dizziness, fainting or falling spells, palpitations, shortness of breath, or a change in your heart beat (such as a fast or irregular heart beat) while taking these drugs together.

Limit excessive Caffeine intake (examples: coffee, teas, colas, chocolate and some herbal supplements) while taking Sympathomimetics and avoid medicines containing additional Caffeine whenever possible. Examples of Sympathomimetics include medicines used to treat asthma and other breathing problems like Albuterol, Arformoterol, Formoterol, Salmterol and others. Taking a high amount of Caffeine with the listed drugs can increase the risk of nausea, nervousness, palpitations, problems with sleep, rapid heartbeat, or other side effects.

Studies suggest that Tobacco smoking may increase the risk of rare but serious lung side effects (lung cancer) from Procarbazine therapy. Talk to your prescriber about stopping Tobacco smoking if you are receiving Procarbazine treatment. Discuss any new or worsening side effects, such as a persistent, non-productive cough or shortness of breath, with your health care provider while you are receiving Procarbazine.

Try to limit caffeine intake while taking Procarbazine. Side effects from Procarbazine may get worse if you take Caffeine, like increased blood pressure, confusion, restlessness, or other side effects. All preparations containing caffeine should be used sparingly such as tea, coffee, chocolate, cola, or 'stay awake' products. Some nonprescription medicines also contain caffeine and should not be taken along with Procarbazine.

If you are a tobacco smoker, use of Acetaminophen can increase the risk of liver side effects. Immediately tell your doctor if you get severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or yellowing of the skin. Do not exceed 4 g acetaminophen/day in adults. Tell your doctor if Acetaminophen does not help your headache or other pain. Tobacco smoke may reduce the effectiveness of Acetaminophen.

Limit caffeine intake (examples: coffee, teas, colas, chocolate and some herbal supplements) while taking Pseudoephedrine. Also avoid medicines containing additional Caffeine whenever possible. Side effects from Pseudoephedrine may get worse if you take excessive Caffeine. Taking a high amount of Caffeine can increase the risk of nausea, nervousness, palpitations, problems with sleep, rapid heartbeat, tremor, or other side effects.

Side effects from Tolterodine may get worse if you take grapefruit juice. Do not significantly alter your intake of grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking Tolterodine. Discuss any new or worsening side effects, such as constipation, dizziness, difficulty with urination, dry mouth and eyes, changes in vision, fast heartbeat, or confusion, with your health care provider.

The intake of Alcoholic beverages may decrease the actions of Tolterodine because Alcohol may increase urination. You may wish to limit your intake of Alcoholic beverages while taking Tolterodine. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how these drugs affect you.

The intake of beverages containing caffeine may decrease the actions of Tolterodine because Caffeine may increase urination. You may wish to limit your caffeine intake (including intake of coffee, colas, teas, or herbal supplements) while taking Tolterodine.

Although Vasopressin, ADH (Pitressin) and Ethanol (Alcohol) can interact, generally, these drugs are only used together in a hospital or clinic. While Alcohol might reduce the effectiveness of Vasopressin, it is rare to see these two drugs given together.
