The topical forms of Lidocaine that you apply to your skin probably will not interact with Ranolazine.

Corticosteroids may decrease the level of potassium in your blood. Normal potassium levels are important during therapy with Droperidol. When the potassium in the blood is too low, this can cause muscle cramps, weakness, or an abnormal heart rhythm. Your health care provider can monitor your potassium level. A potassium supplement may be prescribed for patients with a low potassium level. Contact your prescriber immediately if you experience chest pain, dizziness, fainting or falling spells, palpitations, or change in your usual heart beat (fast, slow, or irregular heart beat) during therapy with Droperidol.

Side effects from Pirbuterol may get worse if you take Corticosteroids. Although an interaction is possible, these drugs are often used together. Your health care provider may need to monitor your potassium levels with a blood test. Discuss any new or worsening side effects with your health care provider.

Nevirapine may decrease the actions of Lidocaine injections. Your prescriber may need to do blood tests or check your heart rhythm (using an EKG) to make sure you are receiving the correct amount of Lidocaine. Contact your prescriber immediately if may experience chest pain, dizziness, fainting or falling spells, palpitations, shortness of breath, or a change in your usual heart beat (fast, slow, or irregular heart beat). Nevirapine should not interact with skin or topical products containing Lidocaine.

Do not take Nevirapine and Ranolazine together without talking to your health care provider. Nevirapine can decrease the actions of Ranolazine. Contact your physician promptly if you experience an increase in the number or severity of angina attacks while taking Nevirapine. Symptoms of an angina attack might include chest pain, reduced tolerance of exercise or walking, and/or shortness of breath.

Lidocaine injection is only used in a hospital or clinic during surgery or procedures to reduce feelings of pain (numb) the area being treated or to treat serious irregular heart rhythms. If you are taking Anti-Retroviral Protease Inhibitors (medicines to treat HIV infection and AIDS) and receive Lidocaine, you may be at increased risk of developing a change in heartbeat (palpitations) or very low blood pressure during the procedure. Talk to your health care provider before any surgeries or procedures and inform them that you have been taking Protease Inhibitors. Protease Inhibitors should not interact with skin or topical products containing Lidocaine.

Cephalosporins have caused kidney problems when mixed with aminoglycosides (Garamycin, Nebcin) which are known to cause kidney problems in some people.

Although an interaction is possible, Ceftriaxone (Rocephin) is usually given in a hospital or clinic setting. Ceftriaxone and Calcium Salts given through a vein (IV or intravenous) should not be given together or within 48 hours of each other. When given together, small particles may form in the body and cause problems in the lung or kidney, especially in newborns. If these drugs are prescribed to you, your healthcare provider will closely monitor your condition. Let your healthcare provider know if you are taking large amounts of calcium supplements.

Additional risk factors for this rare interaction include females, patients with certain pre-existing heart conditions (such as prior heart attack, angina, heart failure, heart rhythm disturbances), patients receiving certain Diuretics (water pills such as Hydrochlorothiazide) which can decrease the level of potassium in the blood, patients with a low potassium level in the blood due to excessive vomiting or diarrhea, or patients with congenital Long QT syndrome (a rare genetic syndrome). Seek medical attention immediately if you notice side effects like chest pain, dizziness, fainting or falling spells, palpitations, shortness of breath, or a change in your heart beat (such as a fast or irregular heart beat) while taking these drugs together.

Taking a high amount of Caffeine with the listed drugs can increase the risk of nausea, nervousness, palpitations, problems with sleep, rapid heartbeat, or other side effects.

If you notice signs or symptoms of an infection, such as a fever, sore throat, etc., do not treat yourself and seek your prescriber's evaluation and advice.

In theory, side effects from Amprenavir such as diarrhea, headache, or rash might get worse if you drink grapefruit juice or eat grapefruits, but significant interactions have not been reported. Do not greatly alter your normal grapefruit and grapefruit juice intake while taking Amprenavir.

In general, it is okay to take Amprenavir with or without most foods. However, very fatty meals can decrease the absorption of Amprenavir into the body and it is recommended that you avoid taking Amprenavir with a high-fat meal. Although an interaction is possible, it is also usually okay to drink grapefruit juice or eat grapefruits while taking Amprenavir. In theory, side effects from Amprenavir such as diarrhea, headache, or rash might get worse if you drink grapefruit juice or eat grapefruits, but significant interactions have not been reported. Do not greatly alter your normal grapefruit and grapefruit juice intake while taking Amprenavir.

In general, it is recommended that you avoid Alcoholic drinks while you are taking Paroxetine (Paxil). Alcohol can affect the mood and interfere with the drug treatment, and may increase the risk of side effects. Do not drive or operate machinery if you are drinking alcohol-containing beverages.
