While you take Albuterol, use Sympathomimetic drugs with caution because additive side effects may occur. Examples of Sympathomimetics include stimulants like Amphetamine, Adderall, Dexedrine, Ephedrine, Fastin, and Tenuate; some cough and cold products containing Pseudoephedrine (example Sudafed), Phenylephrine, or Phenylpropanolamine (PPA); and also herbal weight loss products containing ephedra or Ma huang. Taking the listed drugs with Albuterol can increase the risk of a fast heart rate, nervousness, palpitations, problems with sleep, or other side effects.

Examples of Sympathomimetics include medicines used to treat asthma and other breathing problems like Albuterol, Arformoterol, Formoterol, Salmterol and others.
