Taking grapefruit juice with Ergot Alkaloids might increase the risk of nausea, nervousness, chest pain, high blood pressure, palpitations, or other serious side effects, like pain, numbness or reduced circulation to the hands, feet or legs. It is best to avoid grapefruit juice while taking Ergot Alkaloids to reduce the chance of Ergot Alkaloid-related side effects.

Mifepristone (also known as RU-486 or Mifeprex) does not interact with most foods. Grapefruit juice and grapefruit-containing foods may increase the effects of Mifepristone, RU-486, which may worsen side effects like abdominal pain, diarrhea, headache, or uterine cramps. Do not significantly alter your grapefruit juice intake while taking this drug.

Most forms of nicotine do not interact significantly with food. If you are using Nicotine Gum, however, you should not ingest acidic beverages like coffee or colas within 15 minutes of chewing the gum, in order to get the best effect of the Nicotine. Also, do not eat or drink while chewing the gum.

Taking Efavirenz with alcohol-containing drinks can lead to increased side effects. You may experience more severe dizziness, drowsiness, difficulty sleeping or concentrating, and nightmares. Do not drive or operate machinery if you are drinking alcohol-containing beverages.

Although an interaction is possible, these drugs are often used together without problems. In theory, Mifepristone, RU-486 may decrease the actions of Clopidogrel to some extent. The significance of this interaction is not known.
