Specific food that is high in calcium such as dairy products (cheese, milk, yogurt, or cottage cheese) can decrease the absorption of Demeclocycline (a Tetracycline-Type Antibiotic) from the stomach. Taking dairy product or other high-calcium foods together together with Demeclocycline can decrease the effectiveness of Demeclocycline to treat an infection. To limit this interaction, take Demeclocycline at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals or milk.
