Although an interaction is possible, these drugs are sometimes used together. Using these drugs together may make you bruise or bleed more easily. If you are receiving Anticoagulants (examples: Coumadin, heparin, Lovenox), watch for signs of bruising or bleeding, which may occur at any time. Signs of bleeding include, but are not limited to, increased bruising, pinpoint red spots on your skin, or black, tarry stools.

Although Anticoagulants (examples: Coumadin, heparin, Lovenox) and Ceftizoxime can interact, they can be used together. Taking both of these drugs may make you bruise or bleed more easily. While you are taking any Anticoagulant, watch for signs of bruising or bleeding, which may occur at any time, but especially after beginning or changing treatment with Ceftizoxime. Signs of bleeding include, but are not limited to, increased bruising, pinpoint red spots on your skin, or black, tarry stools. Your health care provider will closely monitor your therapy when any new medicine is added or stopped.
