It is possible Sympathomimetic drugs can cause chest pain, high blood pressure, increased heart rate or other heart-related side effects in persons predisposed to heart conditions, which may counteract (work against) the beneficial effects of Nitroglycerin in treating Chest Pain (Angina or Heart Attack).
