Do not take Efavirenz and Ergot Alkaloids together. Ergot Alkaloids include, but are not limited to, Cafergot, Ergotrate, Ergostat, Hydergine, Methergine, Migranal, Sansert or Wigraine. Side effects from these Ergot Alkaloids may get worse if you take Efavirenz. Abdominal pain, anxiety, chest pain, severe nausea and vomiting, numbness, tingling, or vision changes or other serious side effects may occur.

Taking grapefruit juice with Ergot Alkaloids might increase the risk of nausea, nervousness, chest pain, high blood pressure, palpitations, or other serious side effects, like pain, numbness or reduced circulation to the hands, feet or legs. Ergot Alkaloids include, but are not limited to, Cafergot, Ergotrate, Ergostat, Hydergine, Methergine, Migranal, Sansert or Wigraine. It is best to avoid grapefruit juice while taking Ergot Alkaloids to reduce the chance of Ergot Alkaloid-related side effects.

It is recommended to avoid nicotine (examples: Nicotine patches or gum) and tobacco while taking any Ergot-type medications. Side effects from Ergot Alkaloids may get worse if you take Nicotine or if you smoke tobacco. Ergot Alkaloids include, but are not limited to, Cafergot, Ergotrate, Ergostat, Hydergine, Methergine, Migranal, Sansert or Wigraine. Side effects might include anxiety, chest pain, numbness in the fingers or toes, tingling, or vision changes.

Once you begin Nicotine therapy to help you stop smoking or using tobacco products, you should stop using Tobacco. If you continue to use Tobacco while using Nicotine drug products, you may expereince side effects from too much Nicotine, like headache, nausea or vomiting, abdominal pain, or high blood pressure.

The following foods can cause sudden blood pressure increases and should also be avoided: aged cheese; yeast extract; protein extract; soy sauce; fava bean or broad bean pods; smoked meats; pickled meats; smoked poultry; pickled poultry; smoked fish (lox, smoked salmon); pickled fish (pickled herring); fermented sausage (bologna, pepperoni, salami, summer sausage); bananas; avocados; any over-ripe fruit. Dietary and beverage restrictions should continue for at least 2 weeks after stopping Rasagiline.

Alcohol interactions with MAOIs can be serious and may cause increased blood pressure ('hypertensive crisis') or other effects. MAOIs include drugs such as Azilect, Eldepryl, Emsam, Marplan, Nardil, and Parnate. You must adhere to all dietary restrictions. Alcoholic beverages to avoid include beer; wine; sherry; hard liquor; or liqueurs. Dietary and beverage restrictions should continue for at least 2 weeks after stopping a MAOI.

Do not take Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (also known as MAOIs) and Caffeine together without talking to your health care provider. MAOIs include drugs like Eldepryl, Marplan, Nardil, and Parnate. Food, medicine, and dietary interactions with these MAOIs can be serious. Rapid heartbeats or serious increases in blood pressure, known as "hypertensive crisis", may occur. Try to avoid or limit all preparations containing caffeine such as tea, coffee, chocolate, cola. Do not take nonprescription medicines that contain Caffeine, like "stay awake" or weight loss products, including herbal diet aids. Caffeine restrictions should continue for at least 2 weeks after stopping an MAOI.

Mifepristone (also known as RU-486 or Mifeprex) does not interact with most foods. Grapefruit juice and grapefruit-containing foods may increase the effects of Mifepristone, RU-486, which may worsen side effects like abdominal pain, diarrhea, headache, or uterine cramps. Do not significantly alter your grapefruit juice intake while taking this drug.

Most forms of nicotine do not interact significantly with food. If you are using Nicotine Gum, however, you should not ingest acidic beverages like coffee or colas within 15 minutes of chewing the gum, in order to get the best effect of the Nicotine. Also, do not eat or drink while chewing the gum.

Using these drugs together may make you bruise or bleed more easily. Although these drugs can interact, Platelet Inhibitors are only used in a hospital or clinic. Your health care provider will closely monitor your condition, adjust your drug treatments, and will watch for signs of bleeding while you are receiving Platelet Inhibitors in the hospital. Signs of bruising or bleeding include, but are not limited to, increased bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, pinpoint red spots on your skin, pinkish-colored or blood-tinged urine, or black, tarry stools. If you notice any of these effects, contact your prescriber immediately.

Although an interaction is possible, these drugs may be used together. Side effects from Gefitinib may get worse if you take Efavirenz. Notify your health care provider if you notice increased eye irritation and/or pain, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, nausea, vomiting, sores in mouth, or other unusual effects.

Taking Efavirenz with alcohol-containing drinks can lead to increased side effects. You may experience more severe dizziness, drowsiness, difficulty sleeping or concentrating, and nightmares. Do not drive or operate machinery if you are drinking alcohol-containing beverages.

Side effects from Valacyclovir may get worse if you take Probenecid; however this may only be significant if you have decreased kidney function. If you experience confusion, tremor, decreased urination, or other unusual reactions, contact your health care provider.

Grapefruit juice and grapefruit-containing foods may increase the side effects of Gefitinib. Do not significantly alter grapefruit juice intake while taking this drug, or avoid grapefruit juice if possible. Notify your health care provider if you notice increased eye irritation and/or pain, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, nausea, vomiting, mouth sores, or other unusual effects.

Taking oral Zinc Salts (dietary supplements or medicines like Galzin, Zinc Sulfate, etc.) at the same time as food or beverages, other than water, can reduce the amount of zinc absorbed. Breads, vegetables, fruits, eggs, and beverages like milk or coffee are all known to decrease zinc supplement absorption. If you do take a Zinc supplement, it is best to take it at least 1 hour before or 1 hour after you have taken any feeding, meal, or beverage.

Although an interaction is possible, these drugs are often used together without problems. In theory, Mifepristone, RU-486 may decrease the actions of Clopidogrel to some extent. The significance of this interaction is not known.

In theory, the risk of side effects from Gefitinib may increase if you take Mifepristone (RU-486). Although an interaction is possible, these drugs may be used together with caution. Notify your health care provider if you notice increased eye irritation and/or pain, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, nausea, vomiting, sores in mouth, or other unusual effects.

Although an interaction is possible, these drugs are often used together without problems. In theory, Efavirenz may affect the actions of Clopidogrel to some extent. The significance of this interaction is not known. Discuss any new or worsening side effects with your health care provider.

Although an interaction is possible, these drugs may be used together. Discuss any new or worsening side effects (like confusion, constipation, dizziness, difficulty with urination, dry mouth and eyes, changes in vision, palpitations, or fast heartbeat) with your health care provider. In some individuals, lower doses of Solifenacin may need to be prescribed, check with your health care professional.

Avoid or minimize your intake of alcohol while taking Probenecid. Probenecid is used to prevent gout attacks. Gout is caused by too much uric acid in the blood. Alcohol can cause an increase in the blood levels of uric acid and decrease the actions of Probenecid. Let your health care provider know immediately if you have a gout attack. Your medications may need to be adjusted.

If you need to use Enteral feedings (examples: Ensure, Jevity and others) as your sole nutritional dietary intake for long periods of time, you may be at risk for Zinc deficiency, as the feeding may impair the absorption of zinc. This interaction is not a concern if you simply use these products as supplements to a normal diet; true zinc deficiency is relatively rare. If you take Enteral Feedings as your only diet for long periods of time, you may need to discuss the use of additional mineral supplements with your prescriber. If you do take a Zinc supplement, it is best to take it at least 1 hour before or 1 hour after you have taken any feeding, meal, or beverage.

Solifenacin may be administered with or without food; most foods do not interact. Side effects from Solifenacin may get worse if you take grapefruit juice. Do not significantly alter your intake of grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking Solifenacin. In addition, excessive intake of beverages with caffeine or alcoholic beverages may increase urination and may decrease the effectiveness of Solifenacin.

The intake of Alcoholic beverages may decrease the actions of Solifenacin because Alcohol may increase urination. You may wish to limit your intake of Alcoholic beverages while taking Solifenacin. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how these drugs affect you.
