What is this medicine?TRIAMCINOLONE (trye am SIN oh lone) is a corticosteroid. This medicine is used to reduce and control the symptoms of asthma. It does not provide instant relief and cannot be used to treat a sudden asthma attack.This medicine may be used for other purposes; ask your health care provider or pharmacist if you have questions. What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
How should I use this medicine?This medicine is for inhalation through the mouth. Follow the directions on your prescription label. This medicine works best if used regularly. Do not use more than directed. Do not stop taking except on your doctor's advice.Make sure that you are using your inhaler correctly. You will get an information sheet with each prescription and refill. Read this sheet carefully each time. This sheet may change. It is important to rinse out your mouth with water after each use. Do not use this medicine to treat an asthma attack that has already started. It will not work. Therefore, you should always have your quick relief medicine with you to treat an asthma attack. Talk with your doctor about what you should do if you have an asthma attack. If you use a quick relief inhaler, like albuterol, wait 5 minutes or more before between using different inhalers. This medicine should always be used after your other inhaler. Talk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed. This medicine has been used in children as young as 6 years old. Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once. NOTE: This medicine is only for you. Do not share this medicine with others. |
