What is this medicine?

Sodium Sulfacetamide; Sulfur (SOE dee um sul fa SEE ta mide; SUHL fer) is used on the skin to treat acne or rosacea. It is also used to treat a skin condition called seborrheic dermatitis.

This medicine may be used for other purposes; ask your health care provider or pharmacist if you have questions.

How should I use this medicine?

This medicine is for external use only. Do not take by mouth. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Wet skin. Apply this medicine to the affected areas and gently massage into the skin for 10 to 20 seconds. Work into a full lather, rinse thoroughly, and pat dry. Avoid getting medicine in your eyes, lips, nose, mouth, or other sensitive areas. Do not use this medicine more often than directed.

Talk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed. While this drug may be prescribed for children as young as 12 years for selected conditions, precautions do apply.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.
NOTE: This medicine is only for you. Do not share this medicine with others.

What if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, use only that dose. Do not use double or extra doses.
