What is this medicine?

FLAVOCOXID is a prescription dietary supplement. It is promoted for use in adults with osteoarthritis ('wear- and- tear' of the joints). This medical food may help reduce inflammation in affected joints. This product has not been shown to help rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA), or other inflammatory conditions. It is not helpful for acute or chronic pain.

This medicine may be used for other purposes; ask your health care provider or pharmacist if you have questions.

How should I use this medicine?

Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Do not cut, crush, or chew. You may take this medicine with or without food. It may be best to take this medicine on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 1 hour after meals. If it upsets your stomach, take it with food. Take your doses at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed.

Talk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.
