What is this medicine?DASATINIB (da SA ti nib) is a chemotherapy drug. It targets specific proteins within cancer cells and stops the cancer cells from growing. It is used to treat some kinds of leukemia.

What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
How should I use this medicine?Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water. Follow the directions on the prescription label. You can take it with or without food. Do not cut, crush or chew this medicine. Take your medicine at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed. Do not stop taking except on your doctor's advice.
Avoid taking antacids containing aluminum, calcium, or magnesium within 2 hours of taking this medicine. You can take such antacids up to 2 hours before or 2 hours after this medicine. Avoid taking all other medicines that reduce stomach acid.
A patient information sheet for the product will be given with each prescription and refill. Read this sheet carefully each time. The sheet may change frequently.
Talk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.
