Happy, happy 2006, All. A new year is always time for new resolve. Lots of us PWDs are surely vowing to check our BG more often, count carbs more precisely, and correct more vigorously. *Sigh* Meanwhile, I've been toying with my overarching resolution; last year I committed to "Enjoying Life," and that's a hard act to follow.
What I actually want from myself is to Be Calm and Be Kind (to myself as much as others), which sort of melds into a resolution like "Mellow Out." But anyone who knows me personally is probably doubling over with laughter on that one (not the mellowing type! high-strung is in my genes :) And anyway, with this incredibly detailed new log book that UCSF has sent me home with and my other resolve to get on the pump soon, I'm not sure "mellow out" at all jibes with my diabetes care goals this year. *Sigh*
So rather than trip over it any longer, I'm resolving to Enjoy Life More -- While Staying Calm and Being Kind. No pressure. Just be a better person with fabulous diabetes control... wait, no: be a better person not stressing about my diabetes control. There. That'll do. Happy New Year!!
