Today many of us are happily "off the grid" spending time with family and being thankful for all that we have in life. There's football, and loads of food, and for people with diabetes (PWDs) -- there's of course always some anxiety.
Thanks to illustrator and fellow type 1 Meredith Pack, a graphic designer in Lousville, KY, who blogs at With a Side of Insulin, for envisioning a Turkey with "all the trimmings" we PWDs envsion ;)
Luckily, there are a lot of new resources to help us calculate carbs for this holiday in particular, like the chart below created by Tandem Diabetes, based on information that D-Mom and fellow blogger Leighann Calentine had once put into a chart and posted online.
Our team is looking forward to testing these numbers empirically, over a relaxing weekend -- but keep on stopping by because our Ask D'Mine column will run as usual this Sunday.
And don't forget to visit us on Monday, Dec. 2, for the latest and final installment of our 2013 Aware-lidays Giveaway -- with some very warm & fuzzy prizes!
With that, we send you Gobble-Gobble wishes of joy this holiday.
