From our friends at diaTribe: On November 3, the FDA will host an unprecedented discussion between the diabetes community and senior agency leadership (on both drugs and devices). The event will be live webcast from 1-4 pm Eastern. We want this to be nothing short of a home run.
We at the 'Mine are thrilled to see this kind of direct patient community interaction with FDA coming to fruition, and want to encourage you all to participate!
This event will include a panel of patients (both type 1 and type 2), as well as representatives from ADA, JDRF, and diaTribe.
"As a community, our job is to present the numerous challenges we as patients face each day, and we need as many opinions as possible to be a part of this discussion!" the diaTribe team notes. To accomplish this, they've created a survey to help gauge what we want to talk with the FDA about.
* Please take that quick survey here: www.diaTribe.org/survey *
This feedback will go DIRECTLY to FDA and help influence the conversation on Nov. 3.
Note that FDA is currently working on the registration to sign up for this webcast event; we'll update this post with that info asap.
Meanwhile, please fill out the survey and considering following this movement on twitter at #DOCasksFDA.
Also, to illustrate our wishes, a number of folks are creating 6-second Vine videos that "share your dream for improving diabetes care." Not so easy in 6 seconds (!), but here are some from D-advocate friends Manny Hernandez, Kerri Sparling, and Kelly Kunik -- and here's mine (excuse the bad hair ;) ).
