Summertime Safety

Have fun in the sun this summer, but protect your most important asset - your brain!

Healthline joins HBO this month in drawing attention to the devastating and pervasive problem of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). This past week, Healthline reviewed a new documentary, "Coma", by Liz Garbus. TBI really does effect all of us:
  • Transportation accidents account for 50% of all TBI's
  • Alcohol is involved in over 50% of all TBI's
  • Someone in the US suffers from TBI every 15 seconds

As part of our month long focus, we have updated our popular feature Symptom Search with neurological conditions - Traumatic Brain Injury, Post-Concussive Syndrome, skull fracture, and added new symptoms.

Healthline in the News: New Investments and New Partners

It's been a very busy Spring and Summer for us, and we are delighted to announce significant new investments from GE/NBC, Aetna, Kaiser Permanente and US News/ World Report, along with new partnerships with AOL and Ask.com. During this expansion, we will continue to work hard to help you find, understand, and manage health information online. Among other things, proceeds will be used to expand R&D, engineering, and content services. Read both press releases here.
