The Health Nudge

Going to the doctor for routine health screening is not always on the top of the list. Still, early detection of some diseases can save your life. If you are age 50 or older, the US Preventive Services Task Force recommends that both men and women begin screening for colorectal cancer. For people with a family history of the disease, it is reasonable to begin screening at a younger age. To learn about screening for colorectal cancer click here.

Did you know that it is normal for the prostate to enlarge as men age? More than half of men in their sixties and as many as 90 percent in their seventies and eighties have some symptoms of prostate enlargement or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). To learn about BPH click here.
