Healthline Now Provides Medically Guided Search For Health Information On U.S. News & World Report’s Web Site
Comprehensive Integration of Healthline’s Industry-Leading Health Information Platform into
Publisher’s Web Site Showcases Company’s Network Expansion Strategy with Leading Brands
SAN FRANCISCO—April 3, 2007—Healthline Networks (www.healthline.com), the leading provider of intelligent health information services, today announced that its full suite of Medically Guided Search, navigation and content services is now available on the U.S. News & World Report web site, USNews.com (www.usnews.com/health). The partnership marks the latest in a series of comprehensive health information technology deployments by Healthline with leading publishers, web content portals, search engines and health plan providers.
"As a publisher committed to providing consumers access to credible, trustworthy health information, U.S. News & World Report's web site features an array of health resources such as a comprehensive -- and growing -- Diseases and Conditions Center, customizable rankings of hospitals and health plans, and the latest health news and analysis," said Bill Holiber, president, U.S. News & World Report. "By adding Healthline’s health information services to USNews.com, we’re expanding the breadth of health content available to our readers, improving the overall consumer experience and reinforcing USNews.com’s reputation as the place Americans turn to when faced with major life decisions regarding their health."
Now, when a visitor to the U.S. News web site searches for news and information, Healthline instantly processes the search text to determine whether or not it is a health-related term. If the Healthline HealthFind service -- drawing from a medical terminology database of more than 1 million medical terms, synonyms and "consumer friendly" names -- identifies the query as a health term, the visitor is then presented with a U.S. News Health search results page that contains results drawn first from U.S. News library of health news and information, as well as Healthline’s Medically Guided Search resources, including:
Both Healthline and U.S. News will continue to enhance the USNews.com Health online channel with additional search and navigation features in the coming months. Healthline has integrated a number of U.S. News resources on its site, including the publication’s exclusive annual rankings: America’s Best Health Plans and America’s Best Hospitals, and has also augmented its proprietary Trust Marks search results accreditation with the U.S. News Best Hospitals rankings.
"Healthline and U.S. News & World Report share a singular vision: to provide consumers with authoritative, pertinent information that will guide them in this era of consumer-directed healthcare," said West Shell III, chairman and chief executive officer, Healthline Networks. "By working together and sharing our significant resources, U.S. News offers its readers the most feature-rich, comprehensive health search available anywhere, and Healthline can take advantage of the same valuable news and ratings content that has set U.S. News apart from other news magazines."
