Opportunity
Healthline is searching for a Visual/ Brand Designer with stellar graphic and illustrative design skills. This is a great opportunity to work on products that impact the health and care millions of people.
This position, focused on brand identity and application UI, will be the keeper of the Healthline visual style. This person will spend most of their time evolving the usability of Healthline.com and on streamlining Healthline.com's clinical applications into a coherent and cohesive patient experience.
Working closely with designers, product managers, marketing and informatics, the brand designer will work on a variety of projects such as user interface design, application icons, proto-typing and site development/management.
Responsibilities
- Ensure design consistency across all areas of Healthline.com and external usages of Healthline.
- Work collaboratively with product teams to produce effective and useful page designs, icons, storyboards, scenarios, and interactive prototypes.
- Participate in concept development, design ideation, and detailed specification of visual designs for future clinical applications.
- Create visual designs that address business, brand, market, and user requirements, including design and production of screen layouts, color palettes, typography, and interface elements. Collaborate with producers, interaction designers, and engineers to refine the user experience and release the final product on schedule.
- Oversee that all photo selections adhere to brand guidelines.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Information Design, Digital Media Design or other visual arts.
- 3 to 5 years experience as a key member of a UI team participating in the complete product development lifecycle of several successfully launched consumer (and ideally, search) oriented websites that include monetization.
- Strong design skills including web page layouts, information design, and typography, and must have an awesome eye for detail. Able to develop new approaches to complex design problems and can convey ideas into tangible form.
- Candidates must be able to communicate and collaborate effectively in a dynamic cross-functional team, and be able to rationalize and present their design ideas and decisions effectively. Must be able to prioritize and manage work to adhere to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
- Candidate must be a self-starter and be willing to champion the users and the brand at every opportunity.
- Must be fluent in PhotoShop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver. Proficient in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. Possess good knowledge of web standards, cross-browser compatibility issues and page optimization.
- Must have solid grasp of graphic and web design and information design principles and good understanding of current web technologies (html, dhtml, css) and ability to create designs optimal for efficient downloading.
