Network Administrator
Reports to Network Operations Manager
Opportunity
Currently, we are seeking a Desktop Administrator who is comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and can bring a diverse skill set to our organization. Primary responsibility will be to maintain our application servers, internal network infrastructure, provide user desktop support and maintain Windows based mail and domain servers.
Responsibilities
- Install, upgrade and configure network printing, directory structures, rights, security, software and files services in Windows Server & XP.
- Troubleshoot network problems at both hardware and software level.
- Identify bottlenecks and performance issues in the network and the operating system.
- Configure and distribute new hardware, perform software installations and upgrades, and manage computing and other office resources.
- Provide after-hours support to company executives.
- Provide the initial point of contact for users requiring assistance with computer hardware, software, telecommunications and network problems.
- Perform system backups on its internal and external web network servers.
- Troubleshoot and maintain PDA devices such as Treos, and Blackberries.
Knowledge/Skills & Abilities
- In depth knowledge and extensive experience with Windows Server and XP.
- In depth knowledge of Microsoft Exchange.
- Strong inter-personal skills and communication skills; ability to identify and solve problems in a fast changing environment and in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting, configuring and maintaining network environments.
- In depth experience with Blackberry and Treo devices.
- Availability to respond as needed to off-hour system demands.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and at least three years previous experience with network and system administration.
- MCSE Certification a plus.
