We are seeking clinicians interested in a Clinical Informatics Specialist position to join our Medical Informatics Group. Informaticists collaborate with our software engineering and user interface design teams to develop Web-based applications that integrate healthcare information for consumers, patients and medical professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing medical subjects and assigning appropriate concepts from medical terminologies; developing graphical representations of medical concept relationships; managing and transforming medical terminology. Requires attention to detail and excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Ensuring QA, accuracy, relevancy and completeness of medical topic content as a member of our team.
  • Researching healthcare topics of emerging professional and popular interest; extending our range of medical topics and expanding our topic content.
  • Identifying ways of improving our products, product development, and content development processes; communicating these ideas effectively.
Qualifications/Experience
  • Broad clinical experience.
  • Minimum B.S. in Nursing OR Pharmacy required.  Advanced degree preferred.
  • Advanced competency with medical terminologies.
  • Sufficient computer skills to be able to view and edit content through a spread sheet (MS Excel), a word processor (MS Word) or an internet browser.
  • Superior interpersonal skills; enthusiasm and ability to collaborate with a wide range of co-workers from software engineering, user interface design, product development, marketing and management.
  • Experience within the area of patient education and the design and creation of consumer educational materials.
  • Advanced training and experience in medical informatics (preferred).
  • Working knowledge or prior experience in dealing with medical dictionaries such as MeSH, SNOMED, for example (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of health plan or clinical software systems (preferred).
