PENICILLAMINE (pen uh SIL uh meen) binds with heavy metals and cystine in the body. It is used to treat Wilson's disease and cystinuria. It is also used to treat rheumatoid arthritis.

Heavy metal antagonist; a disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD).

TRIENTINE binds to copper and other metals in the body. It is used to treat Wilson's disease. This medicine will lower the amount of copper in the body but does not cure the disease.
