I would like to thank Topher from the rumors were true for hosting this week's Grand Rounds and including my post on Consensual Sex or Rape.

    Amanda,

You are a brave and wonderful friend. You knew something was wrong with your old boyfriend because he was "acting different," and you did the perfect thing by telling a teacher, who also did the right thing and got help - so your old boyfriend is in the hospital where he is safe and cannot hurt himself while medical profesionals help him deal with what is wrong.

You are not to blame - do you hear me - breaking up with someone does not lead to trying to kill oneself - that is too extreme and tells me that he was troubled, probably depressed, and his attempt to hang himself was not about you - something else would have happened soon - he needed help!

Please be proud of yourself - not sad! You helped and maybe saved his life - that is what friends do - they get help and tell teachers or parents! Good work!
