Take the Stairs - It Might Save Your Life

If you can't find the time for
regular exercise, just building extra steps into your day through simple activities like taking the stairs might save your life.
Cancer, diabetes, heart problems, arthritis and premature death can all be
prevented by increasing activity levels. Enter a new risk factor in these chronic diseases - decreased physical activity.
Researchers found that it only takes 2 weeks of inactivity to start noticing the ill effects. Lack of activity, they found, can actually cause chronic disease. It is actually dangerous to be inactive for a couple of weeks. Abdominal fat increases, blood lipids and sugars get higher, and skeletal and muscle mass decrease.
For the developed world the key to health and longevity is pretty simple - eat less, walk more, sleep better.
