Healthier Choices

Tara Gidus, MS, RD, CSSD, LD/N
I love January because everyone is so motivated to eat better and lose some weight. If you are looking for some ideas, check out the clip below from my Daily Buzz TV appearance on Wednesday morning:

Healthy Choice: They are reinventing themselves with some awesome new flavors. I had the Asian potstickers for lunch today and I was pleasantly surprised with the nice blend of flavors. I also love the pumpkin squash ravioli. Better than at Wolfgang Puck's because it is so much less oily! They also have a bunch of new soups (the tomato basil flavor is incredible) and the fresh mixers are easy to store at the office for a quick meal (no refrigeration required!).

Taco Bell: Did you know that the average American eats at a fast food restaurant 11 times per month? And Taco Bell does 70% of their business in the drive thru. Enter the Taco Bell Drive Thru Diet Menu. 7 items with 9 grams of fat or less. Ask for it Fresco Style and they will give you freshly prepared fiesta salsa and remove the cheese and any high fat sauce. One steak soft taco is only 160 calories! What a deal! And they have a promotion going with the NBA where you can enter to win a trip to the NBA AllStar weekend!

Laughing Cow cheese: Love it! Only 35 calories with 2.5 grams of protein in each wedge. Put it on whole grain crackers or apple slices or go to Laughing Cow website for recipe ideas!
