Healthline
The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? Ok, obviously I’m an Austin Powers fan. After all, a dietitian can have a sense of humor, right? Actually, my favorite thing about blogging is – it’s fun! I have every intention of making this blog “edutaining.” In other words, I hope I can pass on some useful info while at least making you smile (maybe even chuckle now and again). Because while I personally find food and nutrition fascinating; and I can’t imagine doing anything else for a living, I realize that to most people, nutrition is about as exciting as stale bread. So, let me start by telling you what this blog won’t be about. I’m not a food cop, so I definitely won’t be ranting and raving about the dangers of food, or making you feel guilty about what you eat. And I’m certainly not perfect (who is?). But, I do have a passion for helping people use nutrition to improve their lives (my own hubby has lost over 50 pounds since we met – that’s the equivalent of 200 sticks of butter worth of fat!). Pretty great, huh? In a nutshell, I believe in nutrition. I’ve seen it help people lose weight, gain more energy, manage acute and chronic health conditions, improve their relationships, and enhance the way they look and feel. And I love to share what I’ve learned with others. In this blog I’ll comment on hot topics and emerging research, help you cut through the hype surrounding new food products, dietary supplements & diet books, feed you fun tidbits about food (for example: did you know that not all carrots are orange? Historically carrot colors have included white, purple, red, yellow, green and black) and basically help you find realistic ways of eating better without driving yourself (or others) crazy! So, I hope you’ll “tune in,” send me your feedback, and tell me what you’d like to see in the Healthy Diet blog. Until next time, Mr. Bigglesworth and I are signing off…Cheers!
P.S. No more Austin Powers references – I promise!
